Spend 5 to 10 minutes checking audio, screenshots, shortcuts, and one realistic rehearsal before the interview
Pre-Interview Checklist
Read this before the real round
Before a real interview, run one complete rehearsal. It is much easier to fix setup issues early than to recover live.
This page is for the final pre-interview pass, not installation. If you have not finished client setup yet, start with Quick Start [Must Read].
Confirm these 4 areas first
Audio and input
Test your microphone, system audio, and voice toggle before the interview starts so you do not miss the first question.
Settings and permissions
Re-check language, model, screenshot mode, and macOS permissions, especially on a new machine, new build, or after a system update.
High-frequency shortcuts
Rehearse capture, generate, voice toggle, and hide / show app window, then make sure they do not conflict with your input method or meeting app.
Real-world rehearsal
Use the same hardware, meeting software, and sharing setup you plan to use later. A realistic rehearsal is usually more valuable than a perfect demo.
Recommended preparation order
Check the audio path first
Confirm microphone levels, then play a short video or recording so you know system audio and voice transcription both work.
Re-check the key settings
Open Settings and confirm language, model, screenshot, and voice were not changed by accident. On macOS, re-check permissions too.
Rehearse the core shortcuts
At minimum, press Cmd/Ctrl + H, Cmd/Ctrl + Enter, Cmd/Ctrl + M, and
Cmd/Ctrl + B once so capture, answer generation, voice, and hide / show
app window are all ready.
Finish with one realistic run
Use self-check tools, a test meeting, or the closest possible environment to the real interview. Do not stop at isolated checks.
Key reminder
Do not skip this page if you changed machines, upgraded the OS, or installed a fresh build. Permissions, shortcuts, and window behavior are most likely to drift in those moments.
Where to look first when something feels off
Audio is missing or unstable
Start by checking microphone source, system audio source, and the voice mode toggle.
Shortcuts do not respond
Review the default mappings first, then check conflicts with your input method, IDE, meeting software, or system-level hotkeys.
Sharing or display behavior feels wrong
Start with platform compatibility, sharing setup, permission state, and window behavior.
Want to tighten the workflow
Go back to the workflow guide and rehearse how Screenshot, Voice, and Knowledge Base work together.

Final 30-second reminder
- Do not switch models or remap shortcuts right before the interview.
- Do not rely on reading the settings page without doing one realistic run.
- If something feels unstable, go back to the setup you already know best.
- The most valuable setup is not the most advanced one, but the one you have already rehearsed.
