Dual-Device Interview Support Beta

Dual-device support is useful when the interview host asks for a phone or tablet to provide a second view: the computer runs the interview and local assistance, while the second device records the screen and desk from a side-rear angle. Interview AiBox’s opacity shortcuts can make the helper less legible from that second view while keeping it readable locally.

A reference setup, not a detection guarantee

Dual-device rules, sharing modes, and host requirements vary. Follow the interviewer’s instructions, rehearse with the real devices, and confirm that the picture, audio, and your own reading experience feel natural.

Setup steps

Place the devices to match the host’s request

Keep the computer in front of you and place the phone or tablet to the side and behind. Stabilize the second device without blocking your view or microphone.

Adjust helper opacity

Press Ctrl/Cmd + [ to lower opacity and Ctrl/Cmd + ] to raise it again. Aim for “harder to read from the second camera, still quick to read locally”; avoid repeated live adjustments.

Rehearse the complete setup

Use the same computer, second device, meeting platform, and sharing mode as the real interview. Check local readability, microphone audio, and that the helper behaves as expected.

Spoken answers for written-exam mode

Planned

We plan to add spoken answer playback for written-exam mode so users can hear a prompt without keeping their eyes on the screen. It is not available yet; for now, use the on-screen answer and do not make this feature part of a live-round dependency.

Common questions

The second camera can still read the helper

Check the angle and distance first, then lower opacity slightly. Do not sacrifice your own reading speed to chase perfect unreadability; follow the host’s requirements if they have a specific standard.

I can no longer read the helper comfortably

Press Ctrl/Cmd + ] to raise opacity or move the second device farther to the side and rear. Find a fixed setting during rehearsal instead of testing it during the conversation.

Do I need to install another app?

The dual-device setup only requires a second phone or tablet. Opacity is built into the Desktop shortcuts. For platform-specific sharing behavior, see Supported Platforms.
